I out leveled the pinsir by a lot and could not attack it without killing it, so I tricked it my life orb so it could hurt itself. It was only using seismic toss which doesn't trigger the life orb so I had to catch it at full health. When I went to trick back my life orb it didn't have it, it was just gone.

Could you please clarify if you have lost the battle, killed the pokemon or if you have caught the wild Pokémon instead?

I caught the pokemon. It was in the bug catching contest.

 

I paralyzed it with thunder wave, then tricked it the life orb. I then started chucking pokeballs at it and when I realized that seismic toss didn't trigger life orb damage I went to trick it back and nothing happened. I then caught the pinsir which won me the bug catching contest and it had no item. I released it because it was trash. Its ID was 33961052.
