This topic was suggested several times but declined and will not be in the game in the future most likely.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately i regret to inform you that we do not plan to add the posibility to name your Pokémon, as that is a system that can be easily abused.

Quoting our SUGGESTIONS MEGATHREAD:

This is hard to manage, as it's easy to abuse a nickname system and submit inappropriate nicknames. Furthermore, nicknaming would add extra data per Pokemon - this might not sound like a lot, but it all adds up very quickly to overstrain the database unnecessarily. This suggestion has been and will continue to be denied.
