Question about Synchronize.

Featured Replies

I have a quick question about the ability synchronize. I know all the stuff for it but never tried it... When it says 50% to get a certain nature, does it mean it will have a 50% chance upon entering battle to get the correct nature for that Pokemon? Like if I use synchronize on a Fennekin, it will have a 50% to get the nature Timid?

Sorry for the beginner question... I just never really focused much on it and never learnt it.

Additional question I forgot and another basic question I should know:

If I send the synchronize Pokemon out first then switch to my Scyther who has False Swipe, will that 50% still be in affect?

Wild Pokemon's nature/ability/IVs are determined at the start of battle and you will have a 50% chance for the wild Pokemon's nature to match the nature of your Synchronize Pokemon. Therefore any switches you make during battle will not change the nature. This is how it works right now.

If Pokemon in position 1 is fainted and has Synchronize -> Synchronize works.

If Pokemon in position 1 is fainted and no Synchronize , but Pokemon in position 2 has Synchronize -> Synchronize works.

So Pokemon in position 1 can be a fainted Pokemon for repel trick, position 2 can be your Synchronize Pokemon, and anything beyond that (False Swipe etc.) does not matter.
