Acrobatics + flying gem

I tried my 296 speed unburden hawlucha with flying gem against a scarfed magnezone with 239 speed. It used hp fire against me and I used acrobatics. I hit 48 damage and it hit me first. Then on the second round I used acrobatics again and I hit first (unburden is working) however, the damage it did is 41 damage. Now acrobatics normally has 55 power and with flying gem it needs to be boosted 1.3x. Without item acrobatics has 110 power or simply needs to be boosted 2x. So my damage for second acrobatics should have been (48/1.3) * 2 = 73.84. This is something needs to be looked over at. And also a suggestion unburden should give a message like speed boost ability when its activated. Also gems should give a message like berries.

Acrobatics doing more damage and you have no items, so he is right, it’s bugged.

The numbers you posted are actually correct! The way the Acrobatics + Flying Gem activate is that Flying Gem activates first (multiplies your damage by 30% or 1.3) and then Acrobatics checks to see if you have an item (since you consumed the gem, you did not) and then doubles the damage. This means that your first Acrobatics is always going to be your strongest as it has both multipliers applied. Every other Acrobatics will now only have double power, and not the gems additional 30% boost. We can see this based on the calculations that the numbers you posted are quite similar to Showdown's damage calculator:

 

252+ Atk Flying Gem Hawlucha Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 8 HP / 4 Def Magnezone: 44-52 (15.5 - 18.3%) (This is your first attack with gem AND acrobatics boost)

 

And then this is your second attack:

 

252+ Atk Hawlucha Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 8 HP / 4 Def Magnezone: 34-40 (12 - 14.1%) (no gem boost, less damage)

Ohhhh I see thanks for the clarification. sorry for my lack of knowledge I didn't know that gem is used before acrobatics check. Thanks for the quick reply :)
