Raika
Hey everyone. Here's a spoiler-free walkthrough of the 2019 event, specifically made for the Dark Realm. Spoiler-free means I won't be holding your hand, reading you a bedtime story, and tucking you into bed. Given the way this quest is set up, there's no single correct way to do it, everybody will come up with different solutions to completing it. I'm only here to give you tips. You'd be missing out on a fun event if I guided you through every single thing you have to do, as this guide simply only tells you what is in each area. Optimal teams will be discussed below. Remember, dialogue is important! After losing to Alucard and revealing him, you'll get sent to the Dark Realm. Some of your items will be taken, but don't worry, you'll get them back once you get out. in. Munna will greet and accompany you after telling you what's going on. From here we're free to explore the area. We can go North or South. Let's stay in this area for a bit. Dark Realm Spoiler In this area, we can find: -A recruit-able Growlithe -A repel (Used for the Growlithe) -A few level 15 pokemon (Respawnable after defeating) Munna will have an easy time battling the wild pokemon as it has access to moonlight, charge beam, and psybeam. Try to avoid murkrows for now though. If we move North, we'll reach Dark Realm Castle Outside and eventually Dark Realm Castle Main Floor. Dark Realm Castle Outside Spoiler -A few level 18-25 Murkrows (Respawnable after defeating) Dark Realm Castle Main Floor Spoiler -A few level 18-25 Golbats (Respawnable after defeating) -A recruit-able Clefairy (Quest can be initiated by talking to the bookshelves) -TM (Hidden somewhere you would put a cd on) -Door to Dark Realm Dungeon -Door to the Dark Realm Library Dark Realm Dungeon Spoiler -A recruit-able Alolan Rattata -Hyper potions (Hidden somewhere you would least expect something of high value to be in) -Audino held captive! Better find a way to deactivate the electricity (Audino is a portable healing station) -TM -Entrance to Dark Realm Cave Dark Realm Castle Library Spoiler -Blackglasses -Moon Stone -TM -Nightingale and his minions -A secret path leading to Dark Realm Cave Dark Realm Cave Spoiler This Cave can be accessed through both Dark Realm Dungeon and Dark Realm Library -A recruit-able Cubone -A Fire stone -Thick club -A few level +20 pokemon (Mini-quest related) -Paths to Dark Realm Laboratory, Dark Realm Library, and Dark Realm Dungeon Dark Realm Laboratory Spoiler Unlocked by defeating Nightingdale -Dr. Sweets (Battle NPC. He does not heal you!) After defeating Dr.Sweets, you should get something extra if you've managed to play superbly so far. Maybe if we limit the amount of blackouts we get... Dark Realm Inner Cave Spoiler -Umbra, the level 30 mega gengar! -Soft-boiled tutor (Unlockable) That's all of the Northern area of the Dark Realm. Since there's nothing left to do here, we can go South, past the Dark Realm and into Magus Castle Outside. Magus Castle Outside Spoiler Not much to see here -Level 30 Haunter -Reversal move tutor -Magus Castle Magus Castle 1F Spoiler -A few level 31-35 Mismagius (Respawnable after defeating) -Audino held captive, again. -TM (Something this valuable can't possibly be in this spot!) Magus Castle 2F Spoiler Level +30 Pawniards -An Absol -TM Magus Castle 3F Spoiler -Level 30+ Pawniards Magus Castle Summit Spoiler This is the final battle! -An epic 4 phase battle with Darkrai and his minions After you've defeated Darkrai, you will be teleported back to Alucard Castle 3F, in which you will be able to go to the nearest PC to grab what you need and catch the weakened Darkrai. Recommendations Clefairy Quote A good way to beat Nightingale and his minions is to level Clefairy up to level 46. Clefairy learns: -Moonblast (Lv 46) -Moonlight (Lv 43) -Stored Power (Lv 28) This move is useful for defeating Golbats and Umbra -Cosmic Power (Lv 34) Make sure Clefairy is at least level 55, or 50 as Clefable when battling Darkrai. Growlithe Quote Another useful pokemon is Growlithe. Mostly used for the Pawniard squad Growlithe learns: -Flamethrower (Lv 34) Useful for the Bisharps, as they will have higher defenses -Heatwave (Lv 41) A stronger Flamethrower -Outrage (Lv 43) -Flare Blitz (Lv 45) Addionally you can evolve Growlithe with the fire stone after you've taught him all the moves you need. Make sure Arcanine is at least level 43 when battling the Pawniard squad. Munna Quote Musharna. Mostly used for the phantoms. If you happen to use your moonstone on Munna, don't worry. The battles are still possible to beat. Munna learns: -Calm Mind (Lv35) Easy setup on the phantoms -Psychic (37) -You can teach Munna/Musharna dazzling gleam through TM. Useful for the Spiritombs. -Additionally trick room is an option, it makes Marowak move first in battle and able to sweep Important note if you choose to use Musharna. Be sure to level Clefairy up to a decently high level, as Clefairy will be your Darkrai killer. Cubone Quote Lastly we have Cubone -Retaliate (Lv 47) -Endeavor (Lv 41) Can be used to weaken Darkrai or the phantoms Additionally Cubone can be taught rock slide. The reroll NPC is at Necropolis, just outside of Alucard Castle. Feel free to comment on what team you used. Hope this helps you in completing the quest, and yes, given that you strategize, or at least try to strategize, you will not have to grind exp until one of your Pokemon are level 90 to defeat this quest.
