When i came back to the area i wasnt allowed to leave by a "magical force" or something like that. I also tried beating horon to reset it (from what i hear he gives a second chance for darkrai) and nope nothing with the same issue of not being able to leave. You should now be able to interact with him again and if you meet the requirements, to enter the Dark Realm.
