For the Regi quest do I have to battle Apo with the three pans I captured or can I leave after showing them to him, get my other pokemon, then battle him? Also, if I lose, do I have to wait a week to battle him again?

To answer your questions regarding the Legendary Titans Quest.

 

I can confirm that, no you do not need to instantly battle Apo. He will offer the player the option if they're ready to battle after showing him the elemental monkey's and you just need to press "No", after you can go back to the Pokémon Centre and prepare your team, then when you're ready to battle just go back and press "yes" when he offers the battle.

 

Regarding your second question, if you do lose against him. He will have no cooldown so once you feel like you're ready again. Feel free to battle him.
