Having maybe 2-3 total characters on an account on a single server. Possibly trade between own characters, Pokemon and such with the same limitations as normal, (legends can't be traded, region locked pokemon can't be transfered, must beat Gym 4 to trade to that character at the time).

I'd like to be able to start over on the same account with another character.

I understand the coding difficulty, but it seems like a good idea to me.

 

Or just being able to have a second character per account that can't trade with other people like my other suggestion with the "Ironman account" thing.
