Rate is different at diff. locations for some pokes.

Onix is rare as hell in Mt.Moon but on the other hand it's common in Mt.Silver sides.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Is there any plans about having this information in the pokedex ? It could be realy usefull.

But for now Im gonna try different spots then.

EDIT:

I was thinking about your example with Onix.

It may be only because in Mt. Silver side, there are only "not comon" pokemons. So they all feel comon.

But with Onix in caves where you can find Geodudes/Graveler and other weak pkms, it feels less comon because there are a lot of "comon" pokemons.

That case must be rare i guess (a spot where there are only non comon pkms)

So I still beleive that the encounter rate can be same for the 2 locations.

Do we have any "official" statements about this ?

Good evening,

I've been wondering the same thing for a while; i've been searching some pokes long time in area and finding them more often in some others. On the other hand that can be only a question of chance..

Anyway, there's a website that shows much of pokes you can find in game with their location and their tier.

(Not easy to read i'm affraid.. ctrl f is your friend :Shy: )

According to the website, pokes are not as easy to catch in different places.

I'm not truely sure this is entirely correct, but if so, that may helps you and some other dudes finding the poke they want easier.

:Nervous: Since i'm a "new user" i can't post links in my post, but search jimdo guide pokemon revolution online on google or any other engine and you'll find it.

Hope that will helps.

I've been camping Jimdo's website for a while, since day 1 actually. As usefull as it is, I found out that it's very unaccurate.

Any usefull knowledge around ?

I cant believe we still have no ideas about encounter rate.

One of the guys with the icon infront of the name on chat (from the staff?) told me the encouter rate was the same for a pokemon in all locations.

But someone else told me that "Red" told him the exact opposite.

We need help here guys =)

From my experience:

Two routes for hunting the pokemon A.

Both routes have 2 more pokemons.

In first route the 2 pokes are uncommon.

In the second route the 2 pokes are common.

There are more chances to meet pokemon A first in the first route.

Also i think that encounter rate isnt only affected by the other pokes in the same place. But at the steps you have to make too.

I found a water spot when you can meet only one pokemon in a specific time of day, and after 5-10minutes i hadnt find it yet.

So either the specific place is bugged. Or encounter rate is affected by the steps taken too.

I agree with that. Kinda what I said about the Onix example earlier.

It seems very odd to me.

5-10min ? I get 1 Shroomish/Drillbur every 3 hours.

We need to try harder to make reliable statistics. Or maybe I just didnt understand what you wanted to say

Yes i searched 5-10 mins without encountering any pokemon. And there was only pokemon i could encounter.

If we say encounter rates are affected only from other pokemons, 5-10 mins is enought time to encounter the poke. In my opinion at least.

If we say encounter rates are afftected by steps too, then i should probably have hunted for 30-60mins. The only thing that changes is i would meet the pokemon faster, since i dont have to go into other fights/run.

I hope i am not very confusing :D
