Since I am new, I am sitting in the help channel just in case someone asks a question that might help me later. I see the same few questions asked and as a programmer I know it wouldn't be too difficult to implement a "Tip" system that scrolls across the top/bottom of the screen that can be disabled in the options.

Optional to this would be to make the "Tip" system able to detect sort of where the player is in their storyline so that it can apply hints specific to their position. An example would be to have a tip in Fuscia City that says, "Somewhere in the Safari Zone lies the SURF hidden machine!", or in Pokemon tower, "There are weird entities in this place, but I think something is in development in Celedon City that might help!"

I could go on an on with these examples, but they all are pretty straight forward.

I think this would be a good idea for newbies.

From 2015: I'm still here

I guess it would be a good feature, have played most pokemon games and even I didn't know what to do sometimes

I actually think this would be a great idea, somewhat like a scrolling PA system that would give new players hints and tips. If you really wanted, you could even include "Did you know"s etc for veterans too, just as a quality of life update that would be nice and interesting.
