I have a shovel and in the first cave from johto, dig spot (teleport) make me select a pokemon with dig

Hello @Volk93. Apologies for the late reply. 

 

In order to dig through the caves with a Shovel, you will need to have interacted with both sides of a cave. In addition to this, you will need the 3rd badge, of the region you are in, to be able to use Dig outside of battle.
