Polyxena
@FeRRis: I like that you Need more time to lvl uo ypur pokemon because the fact that you have to spend more time with Walking through grass or fishing increases also the Chance to find a shiny or epic skilled pokemon :) so last day I fought I don't know...about neraly 50 times zubats and geodudes....but the Moment when I saw a bronzor for the first time AND caught it was unbelievable ^^ and that meanwhile I was lvling my pokemon. So it has some Advantages, too to spend so much time in leveling. No time/motivation to EV train your mons? Tempestrose
121835 I totally aggree with that part, if a game isnt enjoyable for you, you should find other. The point for me as an example is, even if its harder at the start i know it will be funny later so even mad ill keep trying, still harder than normal pokemon games. Offering a boost=makes games like original, when it should be original by default and the boost gives extra xp instead. You want your players to stay your game not to kick them at the start. Im sorry but i have to strongly disagree with you, the game shouldent be like the original in the exp department or else it just completely defeats one of the main aspects of an mmo, this game wasent made to be just handheld pokemon on the computer, if was made to offer a newer experience of pokemon to the pc world not just to take the handheld games and slap multiplayer on to it. imo grinding is one of the best parts about mmos(not when u have to grind endlessly with no reward untill the end) and honestly i feel that PRO has made grinding something that is a lot more rewarding then other mmos as you are constanly rewarded though out the grind, you dont have to spend hours to grind on thing to get 1 small reward just to then grind for anougher 2 weeks. i admit PRO is a fair bit harder then handheld games, but isent that more fun? i mean like, you could complete the handheld games in less then 1 day game time and was just to easy. and on PRO it isent like that, and a big factor to that is simply the exp system. anyway i feel like i dragged off topic, have a nice day :D
Thor
This game was made with the intention of being more difficult. Most of the core team here could beat the handhelds while blindfolded riding a unicycle tight-roping. The games werent challenging, they held ur hands effectively. We are trying to create an experience that is similar to the games, but steps the difficulty up. Gym leaders are hard because that's how they should be. If you can't win, you don't deserve to until you train enough, it's that simple. I recently did some balancing to johto because that region was *too* difficult, adding more filler battle NPCs, things of that nature. Players should get a bit more joy out of that. And to be honest, we do need to buff the levels of victory road a little, to help players train a bit better for E4, but kanto wise thats about it.
