Burmy male not evolving into Wormadam?

I've got a male Burmy and I want it to go to Wormadam so I can use it for Solaceon, wasted 3 rare candies on this now and get the same result. Can someone evolve it for me or do I need to catch another. I was guided here by a discord moderator

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Only female Burmy can evolve into Wormadam. Unfortunately, you need to catch another one.
