Volcarona quiver dances. ( holds leftovers)

i switched to rotom wash ( holds choice scarf)
volcarona quiver dances again.
i use "trick" so he will be locked to quiver dance.-> so at this point he should have been locked into quiver dance.
next turn proceed to use another move instead
cost me a game , please fix the bug 😞

Apologies for the delayed response. Unfortunately for this specific interaction, trick is effectively correctly coded according to the original games. The lock for choice items is not applied until you've selected a move while having the item equipped. Since the opposing Volcarona was faster than your rotom, it was able to use its move (quiver dance) before getting tricked, allowing it to select whatever moves necessary for the following turn. 

 

I've tested the interaction on showdown, as you can see in the screenshot below. Here's also a post from reddit that confirms the mechanics of choice items.
