All NPCs reset despite finishing kanto and jhoto e4

So i have two accounts that i created and played on back in 2016. 
In one of those accounts, every single NPC has been reset as in it shows the exclamation mark everytime i walk by and stuff despite having both kanto and jhoto e4 finished on this account. So basically i have to interact with every single NPC again including the lvl 6 pidgey ones, its extremely annoying and idk why it is happening.

I have another account that i created and played on around the same time and that account did not have kanto e4 done, yet i didn't have to interact with any NPCs. |

Can someone check if there is a problem with my account because all my pokemons and money and coins are still the same, only problem is every single NPC has been reset

Hi there!

I'm sorry for the inconvenience and late reply.
A lot of NPCs didn't lose their line of sight before the rework of the regions but they do now.
Since the change isn't retroactive, you will need to win against the NPC again.
Furthermore if there are any NPC that still have its line of sight despite winning against it, then please report it.

Around when was the region rework?

 

The rework was 1 year ago.
It's weird that your different account played at the same time got different behaviour.
Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do as it would be a lot of work to disable every trainer's LOS one by one.
You won't be occuring the same issue anymore though after you battled once.
