in the top right there is a map menu if you click the tall grass it shows which pokemon are in the area, some pokemon have a fishing rod on them which shows that you can find it by fishing others have a symbol i don't know what it is its,the symbol looks like a yellow rectangle with a red line through the middle

that means it has a chance to hold an item

Hey thunder, you mean the small symbol to the right of the pokeball right? That thing means that the wild pokemon in question has a chance to spawn with a held item. For example if you see a pikachu with this symbol it means it could be holding a light ball when it spawns. The chances of the wild pokemon holding an spawn changes depending on the item and pokemon, but normally you can assume it is 5%.
