There is a bug in my account where the pinkan story quest gets restarted. I finished this quest arournd 2 years before. I never had any problem like this till yesterday, where i accidentally spoke to Officer Jenny in Vermilion town and it started again. But i spoke to the same person last week she didnt say anything.

Then, the quest got restarted, and later when i went to pinkan, the ranger at first didnt say anything. I got puzzled why didn't he stop me if the quest restarted and tried to speak to him. The moment i spoke to him, he also restarted and not he stops me and grabs every pokeball in my bag.

Also i thought of redo the quest. but that is also impossible as the Team Rocket Grunt(Who is supposed to come battle me at the entrance and the hidden team rocket battles are not available as i already defeated them 2 years before.

This makes it so that my account to be stranded between the pinkan quest and if there is no way that it can be completed. Can you help my account bug to be resolved pls.

P.S.: For now, there is a bypass way to catch pokemon there if you did meleota dungeon and i did. so i can take the transport car to the dungeon entrance and then come back throught the original route to catch pokes. so i am managing for now.

Edit: Now everytime i speak to officer jenny in verm, she restarts the quest again and again, i dont know why.

I apologize for the issues you are currently experiencing and will do what I can to get these sorted out. There is a lot to unpack here so I am going to ask you to confirm the major points as listed below.

• You previously completed the Pinkan Island quest (a few years back)
• After accidently talking to Officer Jenny in Vermillion City (Post quest completion), quest progress seems to have reset.
• Upon entering Pinkan Island Forest, the Pinkan Ranger collects your Pokeballs.
• You are able to get around this via taking the transport car to the Meloetta Dungeon and going towards Pinkan Island Forest.
  • In this way, you keep your Pokeballs and are able to catch Pokemon?

As well as confirming the above major points can you provide me with the following screenshots:

• Interaction with the transport car.
• Access to the Meloetta Dungeon.
• Encountering a Pokemon in the Pinkan Island Forest (Showing available Pokeballs in the battle window)

1. Yes, i have previously completed the pinkan island quest a few years back.
2. Yes again, but it was just the day before this report. But i remember talking on accident again a few week before this incident and she said she has nothing to give to me(Since i already finished all quest from her, this was her correct and original reply, but now it changed).
3. Yes, he collects them.

4. Yes, i can catch pokemon by travelling to the dungeon and coming back here.

here is somewhat proof of my completion:
I attached some pokes i caught during that time. (1 year before idk). when i caught this there was no dungeon that i know of in pinkan.

P.S: thank god, i didnt release these pokes and saved them in pc XD

Edit: Got some time, so i checked now, and found out the boss is there menacingly with persian.

Update: I believe it resolved itself. i didnt think to check the giovanni boss. i battled him and then it resolved but there was no grunts in between whatsoever. 

Btw, Thank you so much for your help and hardwork for this case. and i hope i wont contact you again in this matter. It wont start again. Thank you for spending your time in this matter and i hope you would be the same helping person when we chat again (hope i wont get any more bugs again XD so chances of us chatting again would be rare XD).

now, i want to ask a doubt.. if i talk to officer jenny would it repeat. Shoud i check whether the quest repeats or just leave it as it is..? can you tell whether should i speak to jenny in vermilion again or should i leave her alone.

I am glad to see that this issue has resolved itself after talking to Giovanni. 

 

If you don't mind, can you see what happens when you talk to Officer Jenny again as you did in the beginning? If this issue is repeatable I will need to make note of it.
