I used a rare candy on it when it was lvl 97 and then it didn't evolve when it was 98. Then I used rare candy again and it didn't evolve when it was 98. Then I used rare candy again and it didn't evolve when it was 99. It didn't evolve anymore. What's that?

Hi there, if you still have issues with it, you can rare candy your Chimchar again to level 100 and then purchase a Mysterious Candy to evolve it at level 100. Let me know if this issue has worked for you. You can purchase a Mysterious Candy in any department store.

I want him to be an infernape but he's level 99 so he'll just become a monferno if I use rare candy on him so maybe he'll become an infernape or he'll just become a monferno then I want him to be an Infernape :(

You can use a mysterious candy once level 100.
