The most obvious and most common is simply forgetting what you've spent money on. Have you perhaps purchased anything from another player or from an NPC such as Pokéballs? Perhaps you blacked out against a wild Pokémon? Please do your best to recall and answer these as best as you can. Sometimes there’s a small rollback if the server didn't save your progress properly. Might be worth checking your recent trade history or inventory just in case you accidentally clicked something in a shop!
