I lost to lugia and now its gone

hello people, i encountered lugia at whirl islands but i lost to it and i dont have its caught data. will it respawn somehow? cause when i encountered and beat ho oh i got its caught data and my ocd cant handle it. Also does this whole thing plays a part in a quest or something? please help!

You can battle against some legendary Pokémon that appear in certain parts of the map, but that doesn’t mean you can capture them. Each legendary has its own mission that you must complete.

In addition, every legendary usually requires several conditions before you can face or catch it:

• Becoming the champion of certain regions.

• Having a specific amount of playtime.

• Completing the Pokédex of multiple regions.

If you notice that some Pokémon appear in your Pokédex as registered, even though you haven’t caught them, it may be because you participated in random battles where they were marked as seen.

well i know that you can capture only some of them and through several conditions and thats good. i encountered both johto legendary, one i beat and one i lost. the ho-oh that i beat is seen as captured on my pokedex, while lugia isnt. all i wanna know is if that plays a role in a future quest and if i can make lugia being seen as caught also
