Torchic, simply because of 2 things

1. It's my first Gen 3 starter back during R/S era

2. I've chosen Bulbasaur (Grass) in Kanto and Totodile (Water) in Johto, so now it's Fire time

By the time you reach the route where Electrike can be found, it's almost the third Gym, you might as well continue using your starter at that point, I think.

Gotta get that epic tank mudkip and have rich people pay an absurd amount of money for it ofc
