It's simply not good. Other games have it - yes. And a ton of other games went down due to auction houses. Other games also aren't pokemon nor have an decate old economy before introducing an auction house.
It simply adds too many issues. It is indeed a hard system to understand and introduce, that's the entire issue with ppl wanting it - they do not understand.

if you have read the Dev to do list, an Auction House is included there as a low priority to be added in the future.

It probably won't be any time soon since we recently got a trade rework in the forum, but nonetheless it will be added eventually.
