Awesome, they recently added these spawns apparently and I found Lunatone on my way to Morty. I will go check out the Cave of Origins in a minute to finally finish this quest! Thanks for the info!

Just checked Cave of Origins and Solrock spawned at exactly 12:00 for me.

 

The reward is a choice between a sun stone or moon stone.

I got both but I didn't remember where was the NPC :D

why lunatone does not appear to me in mt. pyre at 00:00 ? i have talked with the npc who start the quest :'(

I will just add (since the OP's image links are now broken), that both Lunatone and Solrock appear not as random spawns, but rather as sprites that you can talk to. So look out for those. I found Lunatone on the 1st floor of Mt.Pyre (at 00:40) and Solrock on B3F of Cave of Origin (at 12:00). If they don't spawn at the time they are supposed to, it may help to go to another floor and back since I don't know if they would spawn while the player is there.

After you talk to the "NPC" pokemon, the encounter starts with a real pok, which you can catch. And it looks like Synchronize works.
