Please implement naming pokemon

Featured Replies

Hi,

Please implement the option of naming your pokemon. To don't ruin the economy, the player could rename it at anytime, even pokemon that the player got from other player.

:thanks:

There were topics like this in the past where nicknaming was suggested, it would just be too much for gms to govern (+18 names and vulgar names for example) so it won't happen.

But and if the vulgar names were somehow censured?

For example, you try to nickname it " ***** "(where ***** is a vulgar word), then an error message would pop up saying that it isn't allowed.

This is exactly what we are trying to avoid by not allowing users to name pokemon. The only way to moderate that would be to change name of the pokemon in the database, or delete the pokemon from your account. How would you feel about logging in and your favorite shiny had its name changed, and you can't do anything about it, or if it was deleted cause you kept changing the name back. Also there's the issue of storing the names of the users pokemon / or a chat filter for it, so that the names could be changed and saved. We aren't a huge business or company. We're a fan made game and we simply don't have the resources to handle that or the moderation staff to over see it. Therefore, I can assure you: Naming pokemon won't happen.
