Is it possible to transfer coins from one character to another on the same server without running 2 game instances at the same time?

If not, is this possible with items?

It isn't possible to trade coins currently. What you can do is buy the items you want on the character with the coins, then trade the items over to your second character. You would need to have both characters online at the same time in order to trade the items directly. Otherwise you'll have to find a trusted friend or seek the assistance of a trade moderator who's online and trade them the items, then have them trade the items over to your second character.
