shellders

Featured Replies

I've been looking for a skill link shellder or any shellder recently in kanto to sweep the reigeon and i will likely do the same with jhoto, my questions pretain to how common they are

1. How does the rod system work, can i catch my shellders with a good rod?

2. What places if any stop shellder from being a rare encounter for both jhoto and kanto

unfortunetly i got scammed earlier so i cant buy a random shellder ._. but ty for all the help in explaining how to get my own, i have yet to encounter one ;A;

I have no objective answer for question 2, but I believe it is just as rare on most routes it appears in.

As for question 1, by fishing you may encounter all Pokemon you normally encounter by surfing in addition to all fishable Pokemon. This alone (I believe) is what makes some fishable Pokémon such as (Shellder?) Staryu and Dratini so rare.

I'm pretty sure you require a Super Rod for Shellder. I've personally tried to fish for both Shellder and Staryu using a Good Rod for two in-game nights each to no avail. They only showed up using the Super Rod.

Rate my Krabby.

Finally someone who speaks English. Anyway, Shellder and Staryu are in the same tier. On many places you will find Shellder during day while Staryu is only available during night. I made it like that due to natural environment commanding so and to reduce the time where you can find both at the same time. In any case I am more for Shellder being lower in numbers than Staryu. Obviously this is due to Cloyster being battle viable comparing it with Staryu.

There are also exclusive areas and opportunities given where say Staryu can be surfed if you are a member or it took you a while to get there.

As long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those that are unable to accept what can be.

i don't mind it being rare at all, it was more so after fishing for at least 5 hours i was kind of wondering if it was just my luck or i didnt have the right rod and was wasting my time ^^ i look forward to looking for a good shellder in the jhoto region it will give me a lot to do
