This has been suggested before and denied. The problem is that the trees and cracks are npc based objects with a timer unlike the trees and rock which are just part of the map. The devs have said due to that its impossible without recoding a good part of the game to create items that substitute dig and headbutt in that way.

It's also impossible to give items happiness.
