Rate Bulba and Cleffa

Featured Replies

I'm needing a tank since my team consists in 6 sweepers right now -.- and I have these 2 guys, are one of them (or both) worth training? And also which set should I use?

cleffa.png

For cleffa I was thinking something like

252 SP at / 252 HP / 4 def

Moonblast

Fire blast

Softboiled

Toxic

Because this guy has good defenses but not so good SP att I was thinking something like this

Sludge Bomb

Giga drain/Synthesis

Sleep powder

Leech Seed

252 HP / 60 Speed / 100 def / 96 SP def

The reason of this spread would be to outspeed 31 SPeed adamant Azumarril mainly, and the rest for tanking, what do you think? Also synth or giga drain? since his attack is not that good I'm not sure if its worth to keep giga drain...

Calm mind might better than toxic since you got EV SPA investment + Modest nature

Fire balst Acc is low, you may change it to Flametrower with Acc 100 and better PP

With 252 HP and 4 def, a max attack Scizor will OHKO you with bullet punch after stealth rock (since magic guard isn't codes yet) due to that low IV in defense.

I suggest you a spread of 96 HP / 128 Def / 252 Sp Atk / 32 Sp def to make sure that a bullet punch from max attack adamant Scizor will never OHKO your Clefable after stealth rock, killing it with flamethrower in return. It also ensure you to survive two shadow ball from timid spell tag Gengar thanks to leftovers recovery and those 32 Sp def EV. 252 Sp Atk EV is obvious with a modest nature to hit as hard as possible.

i wouldnt invest into speed on bulba, because most azumarills have hp+atk ev spread and a prio move anyways. So if u cant survive a +6 aqua jet you are doomed. additionally venusaur is resisting all stabs of azumarill too.

Oh nice, never thought about it, I'll take it. Thank you girl ^^

And about Bulba so speed is not worth it?? should I make 252 hp and 128 def 128 sp def, or don't even train it?

Your Bulbasaur is definitely woth raising due to its awesome defensive IV and nature. Don't run speed EV, pokemon such as max speed adamant Azumarill or Tyranitar will not stay on it (since no Azumarill runs Ice punch as a coverage move), you should invest max HP and defense because of its nature and the fact that PRO metagame is more physically based imo. Sp def EV are not that important because Venusaur will be forced to switch out when facing overused special sweepers such as Gengar, Alakazam, or Starmie anyway, they all run Psychic/Ice beam to defeat it.
