Pikachu drop rates at Power Plant

Featured Replies

So i've been trying to farm pikachus for a light ball at viridian forest and the power plant. I know it's easier for them to spawn at the power plant but they only seem to have oran berries. Do they still have a chance of holding a light ball or do they only hold the oran berries?

i farmed more than 10 pika with no compund eyes in viridan, and no ball. Then got a compound eye pokemon with thief (butterfree) and killed more than 30 pikachu with thief, and still not a light ball, always in Viridan.

In the power plant i just got 3 or 4 berry.

Then i was pissed off and bought 1 light ball for 20k.

A guy on the forum said that static should work (imho is not working [artificial difficulty yay])

Imho Compound eye don't work either, but not sure about that.

Outside of battle

From Pokémon Emerald onward, if a Pokémon with Static is leading the party, then there is a 50% chance the game will force an encounter with an Electric-type Pokémon, if one is possible.[/quote2]

1. Compound eyes doesnt work outside of battle. Also will never work outside of battle.

2. Pikachus in Power plant just have berries, no light ball.

3. The drop rate of a pikachu with light ball should be around 5%. So 1 out of 20 should hold the light ball. Maybe its a bit better. It seems to varies the more rare the poke is.

All is correct except I'm pretty sure that's not how encounter rates work. I think in every encounter you have a 5% chance - not cumulative. So, you could hunt 80 Pika and not see one thus 1 out of 20 should have it is incorrect.

No worries. Just don't want to promise someone something that may not happen. XD
