I just made it to the elite four in Kanto; however, I am trying to think of the ideal team to go up against everyone. Any veterans have any suggestions?

I'm no veteran here but in other Pokemon games I spent a looot of time.

I beat the Elite 4 with Champ Using 70 lvl team of: Venusaur, Alakazam, Arcanine, Pidgeot, Gyarados and Jolteon.

Obviously you can do better especially replacing Pidgeot ;)

I used a Gyarados for Kanto, Johto and Hoenn. The guy just wrecks them too easily.

 

Edit: It was 75 for Kanto, 78 for Johto and 86 for Hoenn running Dragon dance, Aqua Tail, Crunch and Ice Fang.

I used LVL 100 Gyarados, a LVL 100 Gengar.

 

And other LVL 100 fillers.
