Astrid
Instead of having to obtain the 4th gym badge in order to trade, lower it down to the 3rd badge. You have to go through quite a bit of content before you get to battle Erika. The casino quest line where you fight Team Rocket is quite tough/long if it's your first time going through it. Being able to trade would make it slightly easier (and funner). Plus trading is such an integral part of Pokemon, and I really believe it should be available sooner rather than later. I know the trade restriction is there to prevent players from obtaining a high-leveled Pokemon from a friend, which they then use to rush through the story-line. But would most trainers do that? I didn't. I wanted to train the Pokemon I was carrying with me. And I believe most trainers that want to trade will usually opt for a low-to-mid-range leveled Pokemon that they can EV train. (Not to mention that rushing through the story is just boring.) Out of curiosity, why didn't you guys follow the handheld games' example where you have the capability to trade from the start, but a high-leveled Pokemon will not listen to you unless you have X badge. Thank you for reading.

If trading was allowed immediately, hundreds of thousands of accounts would be created with the soul purpose of getting a good starter Pokemon. I'm sure this already happens, but with the way it is, it makes starter farming a more time consuming and tedious process. Powerhouse
I'm not sure that I agree with the philosophy of trying to fight certain undesirable practices by making them more tedious and time-consuming to perform (but not necessarily impossible), especially when that tedium and time-consuming nature bleeds into the experiences of other players of the game. If starter farming is the major issue at hand here, I suggest something pretty simple: don't let people trade their starter. It makes sense from an in-universe perspective-- most trainers have a special place in their heart for their starter (and would have a knee-jerk "WTF" moment if anybody asked them for theirs, which you could maybe incorporate into the dialogue box that comes up telling you that you can't trade that Pokemon)-- and would actually stop starter farming from being a thing. Singham
Most trainers don't even care for their starters if it has bad iv's, as many have traded their starters away for another Pokemon or for money. We placed this system because this is a MMO. Do not contact staff members for private support. Share the question on the forums due to being of use to others. Please use proper forum.
