Hello everyone,

i would just like to share an episode that happened to me. Today after hunting beldum for around 3 hours i got a couple of sights, (all good so far, rare poke, we get it) in those sights i was able to catch the 1st beldum that turned out to be trash using : sleep - false swipe - paralyze. So the pokes r at 10- hp and paralized easy catch right? Think again, took me +100 pokeballs, +30 great balls and +15 ultra balls to catch the first one (the trash one) in the time doing so safari time was long over, only one poke caught in over 40 mins(yes it took that long). Sencond try on safari i went to mart to get 120 pokeballs, 20 greats and 15 ultras. Because last pokemon took almost all the balls i had to catch. Second poke did the same strategy, sleep into false swipe then paralyze. I ended up using all the balls i had wich were 150+ including great and ultra balls and wasnt able to catch the pokemon. So Overall i spent around 150k + 1 hour in 2 battles just spamming poke at a low hp paralized pokemon. I just wanted to share this to allert u guys (players) if ur thinking about beldum hunting, if u rly wanna do it go prepared but also to ask mods to review this poke catch rate wich atm is just insane. nope everything is working fine, you par it, just get a gengar with hypnosis and ultraballs -> u need atleast 100 ultraballs most of the time

288472 if ur thinking about beldum hunting, if u rly wanna do it go prepared but also to ask mods to review this poke catch rate wich atm is just insane.

I've catched few Beldum but they all took me only 15 ultra balls and no more than 5 minutes each, Shedinja False Swipe + Gastly Hypnosis (sleep = x2.5 catch bonus, para only x1.5, bear that in mind next time :Grin: )

 

 

I did catch most of them in the appropriate excavation site but I really doubt their catch rate is any different there; besides, the one I caught for the dex in safari was not harder x)

thats still quite a lot imo.

You won't need a hundred of ultras as long as you false swipe it, don't worry, but be careful if you do it with a non-ghost type by putting it to sleep first, or be prepared to lose at least a sixth of those you encounter :p

The catchrate of beldum in PRO is the same as in handhold games (0.4% at full hp). It has the same catchrate as Jirachi and many other legendary pokemon. Beldum is the hardest non-legendary pokemon to catch. Even mew has a better catchrate (5.9% at full hp).

 

That being said. It is not bugged, it's only luck and it is supposed to be hard to catch beldum.
