Elite 4 made to be an option?

Hello everyone,

i haven't played the game for a super long time or anything but i was wondering if perhaps the elite 4 of every region could be made into an option.

i played for a while finally got all 8 badges in kanto and wanted to progress to the next region, sadly i coul not until i beat the elite 4 from Kanto, i tried it and failed a couple of times, so then i started looking up on how to beat them and that included EV training (i had no idea what that was before), it is just a long and hard grind, and at that moment it just felt more like some kind of job to me than a game which i really didn't like, at that moment i lost a lot of interest in the game, and was altogether sick of playing.

I think that when beating the elite 4 could be an option in order to progress would make it more enjoyable for players and keep players playing instead of ramming into the brick wall called the elite 4.

This is just my opinion i don't know if anyone agrees with me but i just wanted to be the idea out there.

Thank for ready :D

EV training isn't essential to beat the Elite 4. If you get your Pokemon to a high enough level and have some decent type advantages then it becomes quite easy.

Please don't forget that PRO is an MMO so grinding is an important aspect of the game. Removing challenges, such as The Elite 4, would make the game much easier. The game is made difficult for a reason, making it too easy would ruin the experience :)

Hi,

First of all, congrats on getting the 8 badges :)

If you really troubles to defeat Kanto's E4, Windypuff wrote a guide on how to do it easily (most of the images are broken but the guide itself is not xD)

But honestly -and as someone who did the whole story thrice-, that only seems to be an insuperable challenge because there is no challenge before that; the first Bosses you'll challenge will feel the same way but, in the end and after a whole lot of training, you'll be able to solo most of them with only one poké.

But yeah, this kind of power requires dedication and motivation, fortunately. :3

Besides, if the regional Leagues were to be "parted" from the story, the badges would be useless and, as they also "slow down" your progression (to a lesser extent than a League but still), according to this logic, they should be an option too ?

That leaves only walking and brawling with youngsters, bug catchers and other fishermen. Not the highest prestige.

Because you're not Ash. Ash is Ash. He's unique. A special snowflake.

I disagree with this because the e4 is actually quite fun imo. You just finished the reigon and now you have another challenge although I think we should be able to reface them

It's good to hear the community's opinion on this ;).

but i though that making it into an option and making to be more special because right now there are 3 elite 4, but if you were to choose to beat them then there would be like an sort of championship in the game with more difficult AI, that way the people who would want to be extreme battlers could do so and people who are more just into getting the badges/ exploring and don't really want to have a difficulty when progressing through the game could do so.

but i'm just one opinion, and i of course respect everyone's opinion on this.

PS, i meant Thanks for reading, not, Thank for ready. ;)

The Bosses are here to be these "extreme battlers" beyond the Elite 4 :p

I understand that some people are not really into challenges, though (I don't like it when it's like Dark Souls either x) )

On the other hand, defeating an Elite 4 makes you feel like you earned the privilege -actually no, not "makes you feel": you literally earned it- to access the next region, and that makes you enjoy it even more :)

As I half said above, only the Kanto Elite 4 may really seem to be a challenge honestly; the other 2, not so much: even if they may have better pokémon, one does already have a team who defeated at least one Elite 4 + the Pokés who won the 8 regional Gyms of his/her actual region + better places to gain experience, so he/she won't need to grind for long ^^

Oh, and... By the way... From Johto to Hoenn, there's a bit more to do than just the Elite 4... That may also be a challenge in itself.

Don't worry, we understood nevertheless. :3
