"Revamp" at Excavation Sites. What is happening?

Featured Replies

As many people who do excavations and those who check forum regularly would know, there was supposed to be a revamp with the excavation sites. However, there's still a lack of information about this and it's getting frustrating to say the least.

Is the revamp done and is this the final state of excavations? If so, why are certain Pokemon so rare that it's almost impossible to encounter them? Or is the revamp still in progress? If so, why is it taking so long? Is there an ETA?

I honestly believe we should be getting more information about what is going on so we can at least decide for ourselves if excavation is worth doing or not. The item returns etc. are good, but the main point of excavation for me are the rare Pokemon, the fossils and so on. I heard people saying that they were getting fossils quite frequently before and rare Pokemon such as Pawniard, Beldum every now and then. In over 2 months of excavating regularly each day, I have only encountered 1 Pawniard and no Beldums, and haven't gotten a single fossil! We need more information.

I am not sure what they did but they changed something about the Excavation sites. The change was in my opinion pretty much pointless and these sites are totally not worth the cash now.

An acronym for "random number generator" or "random number generation", it refers to the process by which computers generate apparently random numbers, essentially the computer equivalent of 'chance'.

From my experiment, you get your money back or even profit with sellables @ Item Maniac alone. I may have been somewhat lucky with the item drops, so it may well be a waste of money but it's more about the wasting of time for me.

It's also frustrating for those who started excavating recently (like me) not being able to obtain certain fossils and rare Pokemon just by smashing rocks. Most importantly Pawniard as it is not farmable & is a good PvP Pokemon. Same with Kabuto & Omanyte. It feels unfair.

It is annoying that I cannot get them anymore, I spent way too much cash/time to get to Excavation Master.

As someone who already has 8000+ excavation points, I also want to know......

Though, the most needed change in my opinion, is removing the absolute need to have MS (otherwise you get mostly nothing).

It's fine if MS increase the chance to get rarer stuff (meaning there's a base chance and MS chance), but right now without MS you flat out have no chance.

can you even check how much u have after 6k?

Wasn't the limit 8k before the NPC no longer counts them?

I forgot, it has been a long time.

Either way, for me the NPC already no longer count my points because they're too many to be counted.
