Aweful Posted February 27, 2017 Share Posted February 27, 2017 I discovered this server and for the first two days of playing, I really thought I had found what Pokemon had been missing for so many years... An MMO aspect. Don't get me wrong this is a great server, but I was disappointed severely when I discovered that you couldn't use Fly to travel around the map. It basically means that you have a long journey sometimes even 10-20 minutes of running and running from battles... Over and over and over again. This immense disappointment was only compounded by the fact that you also can't breed Pokemon. Breeding is without a doubt one of, if not the most fun and satisfying thing to do in all the official games. Nothing feels better than running about with a team full of eggs and finding out you've successfully bred a correct nature 5 or 6/6 Pokemon that once leveling is finally ready and optimal for competitive play. As far as I'm aware at the minute, the only way to get even remotely competitive Pokemon is to catch the same one, again and again. Even then you can catch the correct natured Pokemon with amazing IVs only to discover... Oh wait it's got the wrong ability. This style of gameplay does not feel rewarding. It is too RNG. I can appreciate the arguments that this would "Destroy the economy" but that's why I certainly agree that a new server could be made with breeding and Fly outside of combat being enabled. I don't know about everyone else, but I would instantly change servers and I'm fairly sure that it would within a short time be the most active server without a doubt. Rven the admins reasoning for not having fly was because it forces people to use escape ropes... That adds more frustrations to an aspect of the game that is completely unneeded. No eggs because breeding destorys the economy, thus making the game no different than pokemonshowdown. If you enjoy hatching eggs you should enjoy hunting pokemon. Only two of the most successful highly played MMOs in history... I disagree. Hatching eggs and catching pokemon are completely different. Breeding adds another level to the game, it doesn't make the game just like Pokemonshowdown purely based on the fact that effort is still required to obtain the optimal Pokemon for battling. Also, the reason I recommended another server being started to test these ideas would mean that the economy would NOT be broken, because it would be a contained situation. Regarding your point about a gold sink... Forcing people to either spend their money or waste there time is how you reward the rich for being rich and frustrate the poor for being poor. Tell me how many battles have you ran from, just because you had to run through that cave or run through that grass. It's not only a gold sink, but a time waste aswell. Easy solution that removes the immense amount of time wasted required to run everywhere and still has the "gold sink" that everyone seems to think is 'needed'.
