the Red boss is a one time battle (One-off battle; not rechallengable) meaning that it doesn't matter if you lose or win, you can still go to trainers valley if you meet the requirements. :Smile:

I am sorry to hear about this inconvenience. Unfortunately after battling the Red boss he does not respawn. You just need to simply battle with him in order to claim the reward.
