PvP season rewards.

Hi I would like to suggest a change to the end of season rewards. at the moment i think there is a bit of an issue with so many players and guilds having the same person playing multiple accounts and 2-3 accounts from the same person being on the TOP 25 ladder and getting the reward. this means that those players are able to get more rewards while other players who are not on the ladder grind and grind multiple PvP matches to earn enough coins to get the same rewards.

 

My suggestion is that players are rewarded based on the rating they are able to achieve this will also encourage new players to participate in pvp because there is a very real chance that they can gain a meaningful reward for their time.

I think it will also encourage the higher rated players to achieve a rating as high as possible.

 

Quick breakdown of rewards.

0-49 no bonus?

50-100 50 coin bonus

100-150 100 coin bonus

150-200 150 coin bonus

200-250 200 coin bonus

250-300 250 coin bonus

300-350 300 coin bonus

350-400 350 coin bonus

500-550 500 coin bonus etc..

 

Top 25* some other reward? special cosmetics special chat badge? or something.

so you raised a few points like having alts on the ladder, not enough rewards for people who play a lot & doesn't make it on the ladder and that Top25 players need a special reward.

I will try to explain my POV.

 

First of all there was a huge PvP Rewards Discussion about a month ago, probably worth reading.

 

As for the alts on the ladder, my POV is simply git gud; there is no reason why a player should have 3-4 alt accounts on the ladder, this only means that you are not good enough and if someone seriously can hit the ladder 3-4 times then give him some credit for doing so, he doesn't block your way to Top25; you are just not as good he is.

 

As for the "bonus coins", this is just a horrible idea; this will not only devalue the PVP items, this will also make PVP mounts/PVP cloaks, that were earned fair and square through playing a lot/Top25 finishes, make worth nothing and unspecial. I would go on a rampage if this got implemented since I didn't play a lot of PVP matches to earn my stuff while someone who like played 20 games got the same reward, no ty.

i think u kind of missed the point of my suggestion.. I have no problem with people playing on multiple accounts and where in my entire post did i mention anything about me not getting rewards? i have all the pvp rewards i want. i simply do what everyone else does and sells orbs/choice items for money. What i don't like is the idea that once a player reaches the ladder they simply stop playing on that account and switch to a different account and do it all over again. there is absolutely zero incentive for them to keep playing on that account in fact there is incentive for them not to. cause if they lose they drop out of the top 25. my suggestion was to point out two major flaws with the current system. firstly to encourage people with not being satisfied to just be on the ladders but rather reach as high as they can there is literally no difference being 1 on the ladder and being 25th. Same goes for guilds. My second and perhaps more important point is that there is no reward system for newer players unless they want to grind out 100's if not 1000's of games which they may simply not have the time for. And the whole attitude of "well i had to grind out games, so should they" is just ignorant. the point system i said was just a quick suggestion of the top of my head. could literally being any reward but as long as its meaningful to players.. thirdly there is also the issue of players with 0-50 rating playing against people on top of the ladder because there is simply not enough people playing to have meaningful match making. this works for neither player because if the higher rated player wins they gain almost nothing and if they lose they tank a heap of points. also there is the issue with playing people multiple times. sometimes the same opponent 3-4 games in a row. i would like to see more people participate in pvp and i think one of the major reasons they don't is lack of meaningful rewards.

I understand what you're trying to say here and there's one thing I agree with you on; and that is that players who are not Top 25 should get some sort of reward as well.

 

I was thinking more like 50 coins to everyone else who isn't top 25 is enough, it equals one PVP item of your choice as a reward (since some people grind ladder for them anyway), or whatever you want to buy. Also, people under 150 or 100 rating shouldn't get a reward imo, as they don't deserve it since they're not even able to reach that said rating.

 

How does this sound ?

I didn't miss the point, you want reward for your activity which you get by winning (+1 coin) but you want rewards based on your rating which is devaluing coins, good luck trying Lifeorbs for 15k for money, that will happen with this suggestion, sorry I am not ignorant I just know how this will play out.

Rewards for everyone would be nice. They dont have to be very big, even 50 coins for ppl with 300 rating would be to much. Maybe no coin reward, maybe a other small reward.

A free free travel pass for example (The one you get for 100k in Saffron), its usefull and its not sellable.

How to give it to the persons is a other problem :P

Of course I'm talking to myself, sometimes I have to talk with an intelligent person.

all the new ideas are ok. But the viability is not there yet. just think that in season 1 - 3 only reward was pvp clother to top 25. no one else get anything for playing pvp. The 1 pvp coins is honestly a great measure. (now that is given even when opoenent forfit). This game is beta still and growing pvp is growing aswell. With time u'll get the experience and the pvp points to get those items. Seems like impossible to reach top 25 casue its kinda hard to get in there when u start from 0 and the rest is positioned at 600 already but if u start playing since restart of ladder is much easier to sneak in top 25. The alters are there yea sure but not so many right now. People i face now is harder then 1 year ago and all this new coded abilitiers and items helped doing it possible making old players have to adapt to new pokemons. A year ago i could probably get 3 or 4 acc in there but not the case (at least for me) in these days.

 

The most important point is play constantly pvp not 2-3 days trying to grind a lot and dont play for 2 weeks. its a constant thing like a league people once they reach certain point they'll just stop playing. maybe a decay elo points system would be good. but those are further ideas. I mean we have to report someone that doesnt apply the rule, we have to go here and read them all, its not automathised, we have to know which abilities are coded or not. I think thats more important than the current prizes on PvP they cannot face all this at the time its needed to be done step by step. And I think they're doing quite well now with the sinnoh update and all that shieet. People tends to llok towards his own purpuse/interest but not much of them understand how complicated things would be for the rest of the system.

that response is ignorant? you "know" he outcome? again it was a suggestion.. i said there needs to be a meaningful reward.. i personally don't care if i they are only 15k. at least it would mean more people playing. you sound like u just want your money and don't care about anything else.
