Guest notblackjack
Hey guys, Well, you guys have made it pretty clear that breeding will NOT be in this game, so here is an alternative for it. Again just a suggestion, don't start flaming plserinos :P. New NPC: the IV randomizer. All this NPC does is (for a price) randomizes the IV's/nature/both of 1 pokemon. This can happen only 1 time per pokemon and only 1 time per 1/2/3/4/5 days. Why?: The reason I want breeding is because if I find a rare after like 10 days of searching and it has bad IV's, well, it would suck. You guys don't want breeding because, and I quote (kind of) "its just an easy way to get another rare pokemon". So then I asked myself: how do we make both parties happy? I think this is the way. Giving the player a second chance of getting good IV's on a rare pokemon is (IMO) a fair replacement of breeding. In stead of creating a new pokemon you modify your own so if you want a new one you still have to go find it. And its not too OP either because you can only do it once per pokemon, it costs a bunch of money, and there is a timer on the NPC so you can't do it to a bunch of pokes at the same time. Any further ideas/improvements/complaints/etc.? ~notblackjack
Pretentious
This is essentially the exact same thing as breeding. If you want to have the best Pokemon, go find it or trade with someone else who found it. It's a very simple concept. All of these recent breeding-related suggestions are an attempt to make the game easier--which goes against what the developers are trying to accomplish. This ENTIRE game is made up of three parts: hunting, trading, and battling. Allowing players to get two Pokemon for the cost (time spent hunting) of one doesn't fit here. You don't get second pokemon. 2. There is still a 90% chance you get very bad IV's (and like a 0.001% chance you get good IV's). Parents don't affect the IV's you get. 3. You can only do it once whilst with breeding you can do it unlimited times. The only reason I want this is so that there is a small chance that bad IV's turn into decent IV's. You can even code it so that the new IV's don't go over 20 or 25.
Pretentious
1,2, & 3: You're right. It's nothing like breeding, but that's not the point I was trying to make. My point is that you get a brand new Pokemon without hunting for it. You get TWO chances instead of one. I understand why you want this. It makes the game easier. And that's the whole reason why it shouldn't be implemented. Giving you two opportunities to get a good Pokemon-while only capturing one-devalues the rarity of the Pokemon, creates more opportunities for OP Pokemon, and takes away from the hunting aspect of the game.
