I didn't get any XP, $.

And he just said "HAHAHA You think you stand a chance..."

I'm disappointed really, especiallly that you dont even get XP.

No he's there once to humiliate one with his lvl 100(?) Dragonair. I think no one was supposed to beat him with ~lvl 21 Pokemon.

lance and red fixed encounter, whatever u win or lost, it doesnt matter

Some storyline NPC's aren't supposed to be beaten... Granted the battle against them can be won, regardless the script will still regard the NPC as the winner. Red and Lance are examples to that.
