Answer 2: According to the Sinnoh legends: You will lose your memories the instant you see this pokemon directly to the eyes and that is why Uxie will close them. As the bearer of emotions, Mesprit will leave whoever touches its body without any emotion left, reason why this pokemon flee of anyone that has the chance to see it. The legend talks about the consequences of meeting these Trio and in Azelf case, losing your willpower is the consequence of harming this pokemon; that could explain why Azelf usually enter the body of the person saw it. If you look into Uxies eyes you would lose memory, If you touch Mespirit you lose your emotion and if you harm Azelf you lose your will. Thats why the pokemon reacts correspondly, Uxie keeps its eyes closed, Mespirit flees and Azelf prevents you from harming it by going into your mind. "Look not into the Pokémon's eyes. In but an instant, you'll have no recollection of who you are. Return home, but how? When there is nothing to remember? Dare not touch the Pokémon's body. In but three short days, all emotions will drain away. Above all, above all, harm not the Pokémon. In a scant five days, the offender will grow immobile in entirety."
