With pro 2 in development and the general slowness of abilities being coded myself and many other players believe some abilites will simply never be coded.

 

I propose being able to reroll an uncoded ability to a coded ability as a general solution to this issue.

 

for example, I spent several hours hunting staryu and the best one I got is

 

Now, analytic is a very powerful ability allowing 1.3x power boost on switch ins. Preferable to natural cure in many situations. However, analytic is not coded and therefore this staryu and my effort rendered useless.

 

This system would allow me to reroll into either illuminate or natural cure, and a 1/20 to reroll back to analytic. I would only be able to reroll again if analytic was produced in the reroll attempt.

 

I"m not sure if there are pokemon that could abuse this system, and it would be good to point these out as a rebuttal. e.g if the uncoded ability is unwanted and a reroll will certainly make the pokemon usable.

I agree with this, but do you really have hope that abilities like illusion will be coded?

yes! :) i seen with my own eyes abilities getting coded/fixed, it takes TONS of time to see updates... but its important not to lose hope, as you never know when mods can have the time in real life to work on coding 1 by 1 (which is crazy ammount of effort)

The analytic set exists as far back as BW which is all I bothered to check. The reasoning is sound and while we've gotten off topic, I am curious why you think it would not work in PRO.
