I don't think it is possible with great balls but it may be possible. It is possible with ultra balls but you will need a lot of them to catch mew. Most of the people use master ball as it is the easiest ball from which you can catch a legendary Pokemon.

 

You can buy a masterball for 10 PvP coins. You can also get it as rewards from bosses, events.

I actually cought it with normall pokeball pretty fast but its all about luck.

It has low catch rate so make sure to stock up on pokeballs (any type u choose) and use false wipe - spore pokemon.

Hey there,

Actually, Mew has a fairly high catch rate for a legendary: the same as Onix, Scyther, Pinsir, wild starters pokémon, etc.

False Swipe, put to sleep and a pokeball will be enough already to catch it :Grin:

Same for Celebi, though it is much harder for Jirachi!

Don't worry, i spent only 10 pokeballs for Mew ^^

I Spent only one ultraball on it with false swipe and paralize.So it aint that hard to catch I suggest just take 10+ ultra balls with swiper+status poke..sync of course.

Has it ever been expanded upon how much lost health/status effects help catch rate?

Dnt worry ^^ yeah i spent like 5~8 pokeball for mew

It's not a big deal just use thunder wave on mew and then use flase swipe to reach at 1Hp and then use master ball to catch him

 

And don't worry its pretty simple tho but do these things under stable server condition :y:
