I think it would be a great idea to add alolan pokemon to the game. I'm not the graphics master but I guess it's not so hard to make a sprite, it seems simple..

What do you guys think about it ? Any suggestions about Alolan Raichu's location for example ?

They've already added gen 7 pokemons to the pokedex in order to prepare for their addition into the game. If they can add Alolan pokemons, they certainly will.

 

However, it seems that right now, they're unable to handle alternate formes, which means there's a possibility they can't implement alolan versions right away.

Since February 10th Client update we have all sprites/images for all 7th Generation Pokémon including forms like Alolan ones. So they working on them.

I gave the art needed for Ultra gen7+alolan to Shane. Follow sprites are being sorted out but they aren't mandatory for next update. In to-do list for him it is well explained how certain Pokemon is supposed to evolve and so on.
