Which Gen is PRO?

Hi all,

 

VERY new to pvp. Ive played pro for quite awhile and only caught random pokes, a lot of good ones, but none that really sync well. Going through the recommended teams and what not there are a lot of good threads here. However, I am confused what gen PRO is? I downloaded pokemon showdown to get a bit of practice but am overwhelemed with all of the OU UU RU ugh so much stuff. I would like to practice in showdown with whatever the equivalent is to PRO. Any help or recommendations? THanks!

PRO is GEN 7.However,It's really hard to tell,PRO got a very different metagame than showdown,we don't have megas available,we don't have the gen 7 mons yet so i'm afraid there's really no equivalent.For example if you'd bring a PRO team to showdown OU you won't go far at all.I think the best way to practice the PRO metagame is just playing on PRO,testing teams,and improve them over time.As I like to say,Pokemon is not a game where you need a certain skill to be decent at it,it's just about how much time you're willing to invest to get better.

 

But to really answer your question,ORAS OU Should be the most equivalent metagame.(Gen6)
