It is common knowledge that the limit of items in the Backpack is 999. Therefore, it is the responsibilty of the player to ensure that before any trade for an item occurs, they are aware of how many of each item they have in their Backpack, to ensure the 999 limit is not exceeded. I know this isn't the response you was hoping for and I am truly sorry that there is nothing that can be done. I would advise you to be more wary in future before making such purchases.
