SCARLET ABOUT US Scarlet is an aspiring PvP-guild in the silver server, founded in July 2018. Our guild consists of an active guild base that aims to reach the guildladder in every PvP season. Hello there and welcome to the Mirage Island Guide ! This guide will introduce you to Mirage Island and will help you to understand how it works and how to reach it I really hope you enjoy it ! Be Hoenn Champion Have NPC Old Man Jerry seeing Mirage Island Mirage Island is a mysterious island located in Hoenn. It order to reach Mirage Island, a player must first visit Pacifidlog Town and talk to the NPC Old Man Jerry, who has a 1/12 (or 8.33%) chance of telling the player that he sees Mirage Island. If he says that he cannot see the island, then the player must wait until 24 hours has passed, and then can try their luck again. However, if the player is lucky and Old Man Jerry says he can see the island, Route 131 to the east of town will be replaced with the alternate map Route 131 B. Traveling north on that route will lead the player to Mirage Island. The player has 24 hours from the moment when Old Man Jerry first sees the island to explore it, and can come and go as they please. Once 24 hours have passed, Route 131 B will transform back into the regular Route 131 and if the player is in Mirage Island at that time, they will be forcibly removed at the next area transition. The first thing to do is to reach Pacifidlog Town, in Hoenn. It can be reached going west of Route 131. Once you are in Pacifidlog Town you will have to look for the NPC Old Man Jerry. Once you have found the NPC Old Man Jerry, speak to him. He has 1/12 (or 8.33%) chance to see Mirage Island. If he will see it, he will tell you that the Island is visible today. If he won't see it, the cooldown is 24 hours. If the NPC Old Man Jerry will see the Island, go back to Route 131, which will be transformed in Route 131 B. Once you are in Route 131 B, go North. Keep going North until you will find the Island. Now, take the entrance and you will find yourself in Mirage Island Cave Passing from Mirage Island Cave, it is possible to reach the Summit of the Island In Mirage Island, it’s possible to find rare and exclusive Pokémon. In the cave, players will have the chance to find exclusive Fossil Pokémon to catch. Other than that, at the Summit of the map, there’s the possibility of finding Zorua. Mirage Island offers players the chance of healing pokemon,by paying a fee of 2,500 pokedollars, by talking with the Nurse Joy. It is even possible to check the length of the Black Medallion Boost by talking with the Psychic Yukki Furthermore, on Mirage Island, it is possible to find the new damage-reducing berries. In the dream he is striding as Munchlax on a street of tasty berries. Munchlax drop the berries on his mount and runs down the street in course sun. Delicious and happy as always. But while the Snorlax is asleep a Darkrai is sits down on a tree nearby and changes the dream into a nightmare. The dream is starting to changed, the sun is setting, darkness is coming. The Snorlax still unaware of what’s to come still running down the street and enjoying the taste of fresh berries and the view of the street. The woods getting darker around the Munchlax and without him realizing leads him to crash into a ginormous Snorlax. After falling flat on his face and jumping straight back up he shouts: Get out of my way and leave my berries alone. The Snorlax whispers back “Save yourself berries are alive! “ Behind the Snorlax appears an angry looking berry with knots as arms and teeth as sharp as shark teeth and as this monstrosity is over towering the snorlax he screams: “You ate my children! I now am eating you! You look fat and tasty.” As he’s is biting the head of the Snorlax and it drops dead! Munchlax is stumbling back in terror… he turns around and starts running as fast as he could ,faster then he ever run before but he just couldn’t seem to get away. Suddenly a PokéCenter appears in the Darkness. He is storming towards the PokéCenter and gets to the door. He screams from the top of his lungs “please Open the Door”. A devilish looking Nurse Joy opens the door and whispers oh get in I have been waiting for you. Munchlax follows the Joy to the waiting zone. Then she disappears to another room. The door closes and screams can be heard. But there is another door from which screams could be heard too. Approaching the second door to see what was going on, he tried to open it but it was shut tied. Not willing to give up he gave gave the other door a shot and surprise it was open. Slowly pushing aside the sliding door, he saw it the monster berry. But how? Before having a chance to process his eyes were drawn to the nasty nurse joy feeding the berry with hearts, Pokèmon hearts in all shapes and sizes. Still in shock it started to dawn on him that it was the Pokémon hearts that where the origin of the screams. Muchlax slammed the door shut and took off running out the PokéCenter. But as soon as he stepped out of the building he fell into a void. He fell and fell seeing nothing just darkness. Then he crashed to earth. Waking up in a graveyard, in front of him was a little grey tombstone with his name smeared onto it with a red gooy substance. After regaining his composure he turned away from the grim site only to have a much more fear inducing sight. There he was the Grim Reaper. Out of pure despair he lashed out using “Focus Punch” and to his surprise connecting with the reaper. But it did nothing just going clean through. Damm Ghosts!! he shouted. But outside his dream in the real world things were different, the Snorlax still being caught in his nightmare swung too and what a fear fueled punch it was, the Darkrai was just swept of his high perch, thus ending the ordeal. The Nightmare rescinded and the Muchlax was back to his peaceful clearing in the woods with fruity mix of berries raining down upon him. Whenever any human wants to cross that forests the gastly didnt wants to crossed them. In that forest one gastly was very good in nature and he has 1 humann friend also whose name is 'Royalboss'. Once all the gastly are trying to go outside of that forest for scaring humans but the good gastly was very sad by that news because he did not to scare anyone. His friend Royalboss was came on the bank of forest for playing with his friend. But instead of good gastly the bad gastly was came their and Royalboss didnt find that he is bad one. When they were playing the gastly was thinking that how i was scare him? He thinks an idea that 'i ll push him when he came to near the mountain and makes the weather night'. And the Royalboss dont know very much about poke that how to know it is good or bad. The gastly was pushed him to down to mountain. After 1 minute the gastly saw voice of his dead body. The gastly was very happy by this incident. But after 1 month the bad gastly came here again and then he saw some ones voice and that was royalboss ghost. The gastly was so fritended about seeing the real ghost. The good gastly was also came their and saw a ghost of his frnd and he was so sad about this but the ghost want to take his revenge to bad gastly by killing him. But the good gastly was trying to protect bad gastly and saying to our friend ghost that 'please leave him' by this the ghost was release him and said never do that thing again otherwise ill be back and tell to your group also.... Being right on the sea front causes these monolithic storms to hit harder than almost any other part of the region. In the midst of this storm stood a small two bedroomed house that valiantly fought against the relentless assaults of the mach-speed winds which constantly battered itself against the think steel poles keeping the humble abode together. The occupants of such a dwelling were none other than Mikey Lawrance and his mother Rebecca Lawrance. Mikey was a short boy for his age, coming it at around 4ft1 and 8 years of age. He was warm, he was...safe. Or so he thought. Growing up Mikey's biggest fear was the storms, the constant tinnitus educing howl of the ravenous winds echoing around his room like a possessed Pidgeot was using hurricane but little did he know there was something far worse out there lurking, watching, waiting. Tick tock tick tock tick tock. "The clock seems louder tonight" thought Mikey to himself as he slowly drifted off into a light blissful sleep. The familiarity of constant banging on his window didn't rouse any suspicion at all allowing this small, round, elephant like creature to slime and weasel its way into the newly sleeping boys room completely undetected. The twisted beast slowly crawled its way up to the bed the unaware boy was sleeping in and raised its enormous yellow trunk into the air, snorting and almost smiling it placed the trust on the boys forehead. The boys happy expression quickly grew to a neutral one, then to a sad one before ultimately turning into a petrified expression. The foul beast smirked as it sucked the boys dreams out of him and replaced it with nightmares that seemed to go on forever. The creature slowly began to lift its sleazy yellow trunk from the boys head and began to waddle contently over to the window before taking one look back at the sleeping boy who's faced was warped and twisted with fear, the creature smiled before admitting a small Thunderwave towards the boy paralysing him in this fear before climbing back outside the window not before noticing a small shiny metal object which it quickly swiped like Drowzee were known to do and began climbing down from the window. The singular piece of metal managed to attract lighting to it creating small sparks which quickly ignited the timbers surrounding the creature, in seconds the house was ablaze. Steel beams around the outside may keep it safe from the ever present wind, but not from fire. In fear the ominous creature sprinted away before being engulfed into the darkness of the night. Some years have passed since then. All that remains of the house is a small ruin and a singular tree stump which atop sits a small ghost-like Pokemon with a head to match the very object its sitting on. Rumour has it Phantumps are children who have died. There is something peculiar about this Phantump in particular though, it's expression is lost and scared with small jolts of electricity sparking from it almost as if its paralysed.

I was still tired and rubbed my eyes and stand up and said: "What was that...did a bomb explode near to me?" I felt a tremor on my right leg. Carefully i picked up the covers and looked underneath. My little Gligar named "Pieks" was hugging me and was scared about the loud sound from outside. "Ah Pieks, You dont need to be afraid, im by your side." With a smile on my face, it crawled out of the covers and jumped on my lap, cuddling happily against me. I went to the PC to check some E-Mails and get dressed right after. After i was done i went downstairs and my Mother came home aswell. "Morning, Mom." I said. "Good Morning, Cyber." she said. "You must have woken up by the loud noise from Professor Oak's lab." "His computer exploded because of the high voltage of his satellite dish." "You may be able to help him a little bit later. But you are hungry now I guess." she said I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge. It was full of bottled water and sugary lemonade. I took a soda bottle from the fridge and closed it again. And my mother was cooking her famous Miltank sausages with Eggs from Pidgey. Pieks was tapping me with his tail and looked at me with his big cute eyes. "Well, you also get a piece of my Breakfast." It´s always the same. I cant resist his cute looking. After i was done with my breakfast i went out to visit Prof. Oak. I went into the Lab and was looking for him. The Laboratory was completely empty and in the last corner i saw a shadow disappearing. I runned to the corner and felt a bit weird. The fire was already extinguished with the help of the Water Pokemons from the neighborhood. At the roof of the lap i saw some sparkle. I decided to go out again. As I approached the door, it suddenly closed. And the lights went out aswell. My electronical devices and everything that had to do with electricity shut down suddenly. I felt very depressed. Suddenly a Rotom was standing in front of me. [spoiler=Spooky Rotom] I reflexively took a few steps backwards and was looking for Pieks. Unfortunately, I didn't find him. So I was on my own and shouted loud for help. The rotom approached closer and closer to me. In the last second, Pieks came to the support through an open hatch from the roof. He looked much bigger and stronger. My best friend Pieks evolved into a Gliscor. Which defeated the Rotom in a few seconds. The electricity in Prof. Oaks normalized again. The lights went on. The lock unlocked itself and a side room of Prof. Oak´s Lab opened. It was the refrigerated warehouse. Prof. Oak was locked in there. He went out and said:"A few minutes longer and I would be frozen". After that I told him what happened. Prof. Oak was wondering and all he saw was a Gliscor and not a cute gligar named Pieks anymore. Oak told me that Pieks probably evolved after he heard you screaming. I recognized that his neckband with the Razor Fang was missing. After that we knew what happened. "I believe the computer didnt explode due to high voltage, because i was using a good circuit board. It must be the Rotom that caused Chaos here. Lucky that your Pieks evolved into a Gliscor and rescued us in last seconds. 1)Once you are max level you have no reason to evolve pokemon early. You can avoid the XP penalty for evolving pokemon because you don't need to evolve to beat gyms. You also have access to high level areas so you aren't stuck fighting stuff 10-20 levels below you. Overall it goes much faster once you already finish the story. 2) You don't have to go past the first gym to prove this wrong. If you start with pikachu it's useless for brock so you need to catch and level up a Mankey to fight him. I went to Pewter City and talked to new players fighting Brock and most of them needed to get their Manky or Nidoran to about 15 before they could beat him. Before you beat the first gym the best stuff you can grind off is the ~level 5s in Viridian Forest. To get your Mankey from 14 to 15 you need to kill 47 Weedle/Caterpie or 35 Metapod/Kakuna. Assuming it's half and half that means you need to kill 40 pokemon. 3)The XP formula in this game gives you more XP than the Nintendo games but it also takes more XP to level because XP required is calculated differently. You are right that in that if you are always killing even level pokemon then it would be faster to level up in this game, but the game constantly forces you to fight stuff 10-30 levels lower than you so it ends up being way more grindy, and you end up in ridiculous situations like having to kill 40 pokemon for 1 level up before the first gym.

People are going to evolve them anyway because they need the extra stats to fight the gym leader. The only time it matters is when you get 8 gym badges and realise it's quicker to level a gastly to 95 or so rather than get your team to a level where they can take on the elite 4. Also, if it was designer intent that you aren't meant to evolve your pokemon until 100 why doesn't it tell you this at any point in the game? Everyone in help chat i have told about this have been in disbelief that it doesn't work the same way as every other pokemon game.

Personally I think the problem is XP system that force pokemons not to evolve until max level. While evolutions is one of the most interesting feature in pokemon games as the awesome feeling seeing your baby pokemon grow stronger and stronger through many forms. It is boring if you spend almost all your adventure with a basic pokemon until it is level 100, until your pokemon become more awesome than ever and then you realize that most of things to use that power on have gone. So I think it is better not make the XP required to levelling so much more after evolutions, even if it does please make it a little so trainer have more choice that keep basic form for a bit faster leveling or enjoy stronger forms. Actually i dont mind the grinding part,fine for me,the only thing that rlly rlly is annoying and takes a lot of fun especially for a pokemon game is that ure FORCED to not let ur pkmns evolve. i can understand the reasons behind it,but the differences r just way 2 high,for no real reason. doesnt help the game at all.

I agree with you OP but most people on this forums are selfish and don't care about new players so they don't want the devs to spend time fixing it. This is the problem: 1)Evolved pokemon take more XP to level. Once you have a team at max level it is easy to power level any other pokemon you want to 100 while unevolved, so this only punishes new players. 2)There are no areas that have equal levle wild pokemon when you are progressing through the story. You are always fighting stuff 10-20 levels below you. 3)They changed the forumla for how much XP a wild pokemon gives so it follows an x^2 relationship to level rather than a linear relationship. So in a real pokemon game a level 20 Rattata gives twice as much XP as a level 10 Rattata, but in this game you get 4 times as much XP. Add on top of that the reduced XP for fighting lower level pokemon from Gen 5 and it's no wonder everything is so grindy when they force you to fight low level pokemon. Anyone who defends the current system either doesn't understand how it works or just wants it to stay like this so they can exploit it to get ahead of other players. XP in this game needs a complete overhaul, it's the biggest problem the game has.

My suggestions would be quite different from Zulkir and mines requires some grinding time, but I found that interesting as I leveled all my pokemons up to 80+ and beat them quite easily in kanto. For just beating the story, some of the best pokemon that are easy to get are: Gengar, Gyarados, Alakazam. Gengar can 1-shot everything all the way through the game with the right coverage, Gyarados can switch into and set up on almost everything trainers use and half the e4, and Alakazam has worse coverage than Gengar but does a lot of the same stuff. A couple of tips I'd give you would be: don't evolve your pokemon until you get them to 85+ if you don't want to have to grind much for the e4, as pokemon require an absurd amount of extra experience to level when you evolve them early; and don't try to keep a full party of five or six equally leveled, as there's not enough experience to go around without lots of grinding. I beat both continents with just a Gengar and Gyarados, it worked so well the first time I just caught fresh ones again in Johto and did it again.
