I disagree, Hoenn doesn't 'lose value' as time goes on. All players get the same content, same pokes, everything you get is the same, therefore the 'laptop' doesn't go down in price.

exactly, you dont lose anything on the requirement being removed. Sure you used the rare candies and spent alot of time, but you still got in there before us. Imagine this, you use a whole year worth of savings to buy yourself a laptop. Fast forward 2 months, your parents bought your brother an identical laptop for free. When you ask your parents why don't they buy you a laptop instead of you spending your savings, they say you already got one 2 months ago and you're not losing anything when they give your brother a new laptop. TL;DR, you don't deserve to go to hoenn if you don't put in the same amount of work we did.
