As someone who very much enjoys the game and all the cosmetics that have been implemented but doesnt have the skill to hold high ranking position to earn gold chests. Or 5-40m pokedollars to buy them, i think being able to play and be rewarded for dedication, in place of skill in the form of a golden chest and its potential rewards is a great trade off. While it think its great for players just looking for rewards it would definitely have the added benefit of shortening queue times which I know a lot of pvpers would greatly appreciate.
