I believe he said the problem is caused because ''a lot of new players don't realize'' evolving pokes will make them require more exp... I'm just saying the game clearly warns you about that. Don't see any reason why that should be changed

HiddenPower base power testing. Always 60? No it not.

If you can prove it being otherwise, please do so whenever you can. -
HiddenPower base power testing. Always 60? No it not.
Padawan96 replied to Hiddenability's topic in PvP
Just for reference, this are the websites tools and calcs done for this case: https://www.psypokes.com/dex/hp.php https://pokemonshowdown.com/damagecalc/ (open the following captures in a new tab for a better quality resolution) -

The thing is, that magnezone has a hidden power fire with base 47 power, your calcs are correct as for 60 base power hidden power fire. -
HiddenPower base power testing. Always 60? No it not.

I didn't notice that scizor was invested on health points. The actual calculation results in 80.9 - 96.4% chance to kill damage done to that scizor with a hidden power fire from that magnezone. That means, in that scenario it's impossible to kill it with a single hidden power fire (it would always require two hits). I believe a gm was asked in-game about the hidden power mechanics and said so, but this is a really good example of it not being always base 60 power. -

That magnezone has hp fire base 47. After damage calculation there is 93.8% chance to kill that specific scizor with one hit. So probably you got low rolls (bad luck). Btw hidden power has been confirmed to be coded as for gen 4. [glow=red]Edit (look for latest post)[/glow] -
I'd like to add to that list: * x-scizor * poison jab * focus blast * stone edge * wild charge  . Those would pretty much cover all the relevant missing tms :)

Well... every pokemon that naturally has volt absorb as its ability is electric type, so those are immune to paralysis anyway. The only way this could potentially happen is getting the ability via Role Play...

I'd like to say sorry to Shane for the community's reaction. I mean, we got awesome things in recent updates, and we should appreciate that (we had a long wait for this). But instead, some of us focus on "negative" things, being rude, making rumours ad over-dramatizating stuff.
-
It was disruptive indeed (i got teleported there three times in less than an hour lol), but with some little rework and better detection system it would do only good for the game.
-
The very same game tells you that pokes may get stronger when evolved, but level up slower and may not be able to relearn some moves. If only players would read npc's dialogues more often...

Quote: ''If both Pokemon were sent out at the same time then the slowests Pokemon's weather will stay. This is because the faster one will use it's ability first as usual, meaning it's weather will come out first. So the second one's weather would be deployed second and so forth.'' When two pokemons with weather setting abilities hit the field, the slower one should overwrite the faster one's weather. For example: Relaxed sand stream tyranitar 0 speed invested, and timid drought ninetales max speed invested are sent to battle, tyranitar's weather (sandstorm) should be the one to take action. So it would be like this: Ninetales's(faster poke) drought activates > Sun(weather) is set > Tyranitar's(slower poke) sandstream activates > Sandstorm(weather) kicks in. There seems to be a bug that makes faster pokemon to set the weather, which is not the case in pokemon mechanics.

+1 I agree those missing tms would make pvp experience much richer. However, Sinnoh is being worked on at the moment, and maybe some new tms will arrive with that new region!
-
Thank you, indeed, Shane and all Staff members for bringing us some refreshing updates! It would be beyond awesome if some missing tms/moves (energy ball, dazzling gleam, grass knot,focus/stone miss xD) would be added. :Heart-eyes:
-
:banned: In my opinion, it HAS to be consumable, otherwise it would be too strong. I think a vendor (maybe the same one that sells focus sash) should sell it. Afterall focus sash was 50 pvp coins, hundreds of excavation artifacts or boss drop only in the past.

smells like less blissey, snorlax, tangrowth, amoongus, slowbro, ferrothorn, and more dynamic offensive oriented battles! (by no means they will disappear from pvp ranked, but at least those pokes will be less troublesome to deal with)
-
Life orb is here pals!!! :Heart-eyes: Thank you Shane for all this awesome changes, now stall teams are a little less overwhelming! Some pokes might actually get an increased usage rate. I really love to see some long awaited updates to be released! Great job PRO Team, keep it up! :y:

Stealth rocks damage against fighting types bugged
Padawan96 replied to Padawan96's topic in Battle System Bugs
bumpity bump Sorry staff members, this must be some really busy times. This bug has been around for quite a while and it has a major impact in a battle outcome. Please, could this be revised anytime in the near future? I know the PRO community will be grateful for a fix :)
