My question is:

 

Should I level up my pokemon while gaining EVs, or max out EVs then level up my pokemon? how will both cases affect my stats gain... :Ambivalent:

Both will have their respective max stats when they reach max level :Sleeping:

Personally, i prefer your method #2 with a small twist and have found it good enough to stick with it. Full Ev lvl 20's which you can just train anywhere you feel like without having to worry about gaining wrong ev's is fun :y:

 

Edit; I also got a question. How many levels does it actually take for a low-level, full Ev trained pokemon to "unlock its true potential" No, i dont mean reaching level 100, but after your Ev's stops having effect on your level ups? Is it 50, 60 or maybe even 70? This is something that i've been wondering for awhile now.

I always lvl my pokemon while EV training them, saves precious time.

but that's my opinion son, however there are some pokemon who are abit harder to EV train so you do it in low lvl places.

in your case Gastly is super easy to train, so I advise to do it while lvling.

What happens to him when he hits lv100 will he have the same speed stat if he was fully EV trained or not?

In case of speed equal for both pokémons the 1st aggressor is chooses randomly, at least on version consoles

I think I understood what you meant, I had the same question when I started training EVs on my Pokes.

Your Pokemon stats won't increase more if you do its EVs soon than if you do them at lvl 100. No matter what level you start doing its EVs, in the end they'll get divided by 4 and added to their respective category.

EVs do not exponentially raise stats when levelling, it's just a simple division/addition.
